Since I have not seen yet the official translation I compiled a number of tweets of the All India Radio News to get the Tianjin Declaration of the Shanghai Security Organization. The organization, which started in 1996 as the “Shanghai 5” by China and Russia to address security issues in central Asia, is now one with 10 members (including China, Russia and India and Pakistan), and the Tianjin meeting signals the ambition for the organization to play a major role in the Post-US international order. China’s President Xi Jinping used the meeting to launch his Global Governance Initiative, the fourth global initiative of China after the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Culture Initiative. Though there is no text of the initiative available yet, In Xi’s Speech at the meeting, he emphasized 5 points:“First, we should adhere to sovereign equality. We should maintain that all countries, regardless of size, strength and wealth, are equal participants, decision-makers and beneficiaries in global governance.
